The NTT Group family docomo Smart-Life Solutions and NTT DATA Mobile Business from Tokyo, Japan were our guests in Stuttgart, Germany in March. They met with German colleagues for an internal exchange of experiences and joint customer visits. The colleagues from Tokyo have recently expanded in the Japanese market with innovative mobility business models such as bike- and car sharing, Drone Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. They offer their modern solutions to over 60 million customers.
Christian Weiler and me had put together an extensive agenda for the Japanese and NTT DATA teams. Experience on business models, market trends, future technologies and brand strategies was exchanged in numerous meetings.
Especially the meetings with Florian Gerhardt, Global Head of Connected and Autonomous Vehicle, Jochen Puff, Competence Unit Manager Connected Car, and Andreas Hess, NTT DATA Project Lead, left a lasting impression on the Asian colleagues. Cooperation approaches regarding consulting expertise, products and services were sought and found on a broad front. The portfolios of NTT DATA Germany and the Group companies in Japan complement each other perfectly, particularly with regard to mobility solutions and technologies of the future.
The agenda also included product tests of some German Sharing Economy products. The colleagues tested various car- and bike sharing providers. as well as mobility and taxi apps. In the end, the enthusiasm was great on all sides. Certainly, the Asian-German cooperation in the development of mobility solutions will be further intensified in the future.
